Dakotah is a Savannah, GA raised graduate of New York University. Her thesis, "Intellectual Property as a Legal, Economic, Scientific (Technological), and Cultural Discipline," secured her degree Summa Cum Laude. Dakotah spent two years in New York's elite world of fashion publications, contributing to ELLE, CR Fashion Book, Harper’s Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan, before returning home to the Lowcountry and pivoting to floral design -- a childhood dream come true.
Dakotah Van Bortel
Donna has extensive experience in account management, bookkeeping, and event design and production. Her background is in accounting, but she fell in love with events years ago planning charity fundraisers while raising her two children, Dakotah and Colton. Now, Donna wears many hats at Jardiniere -- overseeing all of the company logistics, including scheduling, contracts, and payments, while creatively selecting all of the glass, candleware, and specialty decor for weddings and events. She also leads the majority of event installations.

Kirty is JE's OG hire, having been with the company since 2020. She began a career in floral design when she was a teenager, and has experience in a wide variety of retail environments. She oversees the daily operations in the design room, and her time on site is spent designing and creating large-scale floral installations.

Eden is Jardiniere's resident horticulturist. Her garden is full of dahlias, poppies, peonies -- you name it, she can grow it! She consults on all plant projects in addition to her role as a floral designer. She has a degree in Marine Environmental Technology from the College of the Florida Keys, and says her favorite part of JE is working together as a team.

Ethan met Eden on a dock at Spanish Wells nearly ten years ago, and they've been together ever since. He also has a degree in Marine Environmental Technology. Ethan handles fabrication, and says his favorite part of event work is traveling to new places and having new experiences. His dream is to travel to Indonesia -- call us, we'll travel!
